C’est finis!
Dusting off my high school French here to let you know “It’s done!”
Yep.
WISH YOU WERE EYRE is finished! And shipped off to Alexandra, my charming editor, who will soon be rolling up her sleeves and diving in (and, I hope, enjoying what I’ve cooked up).
For those of you who are curious as to what happens next, once Alexandra has had a chance to read the draft and mull it over, she’ll then get back to me with what’s called an “editorial letter.” I LOVE receiving editorial letters — this means we’re about to get to my favorite part of the writing process: REVISION!
Anyway, the editorial letter contains all of her feedback and ideas about the book — the good, the bad, and (occasionally) the ugly. (Actually, I’ve been very fortunate in my publishing career so far, as there hasn’t been much ugly.) She’ll praise what deserves to be praised (and let’s face it, we writers LIVE for praise ha ha), poke holes in what deserves to have holes poked in it, make suggestions and comments, and help me brainstorm about bits that are raggedy around the edges or otherwise need work. And then it’s my job to dive back in and wave my magic wand and make the story sing.
Which is what I love to do.
So now, while I’m waiting for Alexandra’s feedback, I get to catch up on: sleep, housework, fan mail, exercise, visiting with family and friends, playing with my dogs, movies I’ve missed, books that have been stacking up, and more sleep. All the things that fall by the wayside when I’m on deadline…

Is it actually the last book? I never find great authors like you, and I think the book club should go all the way to college.. Then, you have a 10 years later book when the former girls from the book club already have kids and start their own mother-daughter book club, when they’re the mothers this time… What do you think? And you can put emma with stewart, becca with some1(idk who), megan with some1, and jess with darcy, and cassidy with zach norton!!

is once upon a toad an adventure book??? because on the books part of your website it is by the adventure section!
It’s actually what’s called a “fractured fairy tale” — meaning a new twist on an old tale — but there is also an adventure at the heart of it (two sisters on the run from jewel thieves, among other things) so that seemed the most logical spot to put it.
oh and also in dear pen pal when megan over hears jess talking to savannah about how she likes darcy megan is all suprised and stuff. i don’t get that because in the 1st book when emma is having a zach attck in the bathroom jess tells her that she likes her brother and megan and cassidy are right beside emma. So then wouldn’t megan already know that jess like darcy????? Why is she suprised in dear pen pal????

The Mother-Daughter Book Club series is one of those books that for me it’s like “It’s ending? Are you sure? It can’t be done yet.” When my friend told me, I was like “NO! I REFUSE FOR IT TO BE OVER!” But it’s over…and now that you finished the book it’s that moment that I never thought would come.
