Calling all young Portland writers!

Want to learn how to create characters so real they walk off the page?

Head on down to Powell’s Books at Cedar Hills Crossing (Beaverton) this coming Friday afternoon, December 10th, at 4:30 p.m.  I’ll be teaching a writing workshop with my friend and fellow author April Henry aimed at aspiring authors between the ages of 10 and 18.

There’ll be a book signing afterwards, too!  Hope to see you there!

  1. I wish I could be there! I live in Ohio! I don’t think my parents will let me fly to Portland! LOL Just Kidding! 🙂

  2. Hi,

My daughter will be coming– how long do you expect the workshop to last? And I understand it to be free?

    • Hi Julia — It will probably last an hour, possibly a wee bit longer. Depends on how many kids are there, as we’d like to give everyone a little time to share (if they want to), plus leave time for Q&A. Totally free — it’s a Powell’s event! 🙂

  3. Man i missed it… and i only live 20 min away. If anyomre work shops come up around Portland make sure you post it!

  4. Do you have a blog where you just talk about the Mother Daughter book club series? Just wondering…….It would be really cool if you did.

  5. I was just in Portland, I live in Montana. I went to Powells Books, and bought The Mother-Daughter Book Club book in Hardcover! You should com to the Country Bookshelf in Bozeman, Montana!! 🙂

    • I’d love to, Emma, but at the moment I don’t have any plans to be in your area. Let’s keep our fingers crossed, OK?
