California & Texas, here I come!

It’s almost time to pack my bags for my fall book tour!

Next week I’ll be heading down to Orange County, then later in October I’ll be visiting Austin, Houston and Dallas — woo hoo!

Click here to see my full schedule with all the details.

I’m going to be doing a lot of fun things, from visiting schools to book signings to book festivals.  I can’t wait to see you!

And the winner is…

Billie and Bonnie picked KILEY, whose favorite scene was Jess’s theater debut in THE MOTHER-DAUGHTER BOOK CLUB, and GRACE, whose favorite scene was in MUCH ADO ABOUT ANNE, when Cassidy jokes about “free-range tofu.”  Congratulations, girls!!!  (I’ve sent you both emails separately to get your mailing information.)

And a big valentine-size THANK YOU to everyone else who participated — my family and I had such fun reading all your comments.  They totally made my week!

Oh, and one more thing, I’ll be posting more details soon, but for a sneak peek at my fall travel schedule, click here!

Giveaway for new book!

It’s finally time!

With just 25 days left to go until the release of HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, I have *two* advance review copies to give away to a pair of mother-daughter book club fans!

Leave a comment below sharing your all-time favorite scene from any book in my mother-daughter book club series.  That’s it, that’s all you have to do.  Deadline is midnight (Pacific Standard Time) on September 15th.  U.S. and Canada only, please.

Bonnie and Billie, my Shetland Sheepdogs, will be in charge of the random drawing (click here to see Billie at work on a previous giveaway).  Winners will be announced on the 16th.  Fun, huh?

SPOILER ALERT:  Be aware that the wonderfully enthusiastic comments below contain details about books you may not have read yet — so if you want to be surprised as you’re reading through the series, skip them, OK?

Cousin Dorothy’s first century

Ta da!  Here she is, the Birthday Girl extraordinaire!

Dorothy Boyer Gornick at 100

My darling Cousin Dorothy turned 100 — that’s right, ONE HUNDRED! — last week.  My husband and I stopped by her home (she still lives independently) to help her celebrate, and I told her that she gets one candle per century, so I’ll bring her another one when she turns 200.

Which I’m not ruling out by any means, because she’s amazing, as those of you who read the birthday post from last year know only too well.  Dorothy just keeps getting more beautiful, growing in grace, not years.

Here’s to the next century, Dorothy!  May it be even better than your first one!

Dorothy and my husband Steve -- I don't know who's cuter!
