  2. That’s adorable! But I thought sugar wasn’t good for dogs? As I don’t have one of my own, I don’t know much about them. What’s the dog’s name? Favourite flavour?

  3. AAAWWWW!!! Is that Billie or Bonnie? Did you know at J. P. Licks they have doggie ice cream? πŸ˜€

  4. Oh! your dog is so cute!! What’s his(or her) name?

I LOVE your MDBC books!! Can’t wait to read

    • This is Bonnie, Serene. My favorite ice cream flavor is strawberry. But at DQ I always get a chocolate/vanilla swirl. πŸ™‚

      • Ooh, yum!!! Yeah, chocolate isn’t the best thing for dogs, but that didn’t stop mine!! One Easter, my dog ate over half of my chocolate Easter bunny!! D:

  5. Omg that is soooooo cute! Whats your dogs name?? I have a dog, and his name is Frasier, from my dads favorite TV shows!!! And I saw your comment on the back of ‘My Life in Pink and Green’ which I LOOOOOOOVE! I also read the voyage and education of Patience Godspeed, which is AMAZING! I can’t believe that was your first book!!

  6. Aw, cute! Just make sure that it’s vanilla ice cream since if dogs eat too much chocolate it’s not good for them. (:
PS: I totally loved your WWYE excerpt! And now I’m sitting here on pins and needles waiting for it to come out into stores. xD.

    • It’s a she, Kate! Her name is Bonnie. And yeah, she LOVES DQ vanilla doggie cones. It’s a rare treat, though.

  8. Oh, so sweet. I love your dogs so much, they are always doing cute things. I wish I could do that with my dog, but he can’t have dairy. Did Bonnie get any icecream?

    • Well, I was caught up, and now I’m behind again. It happens… I’ll get caught up again soon, I hope!

  9. Awwwwwww! So cute! πŸ™‚ I used to have a collie named Sunshine (<3 <3 <3) and she looked exactly like your dog. I love dogs! <3 I am a dog person! WOOF! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

    • Aww, that’s my dog’s name, too!!! I’m sure she was wonderful, I guess it’s a Sunshine thing or something weird like that… XD

  10. adorable! this week we went for a hike and my dog got a stick in her hair…it was HUGE, and she didn’t even notice! i took pity on her and pulled it out, though.

  11. My dogs would be thrilled out of their minds to get a treat like that – however, they’re both toy poodles who happen to only weigh 8 pounds apiece, so I don’t think that sugar would be a good idea for them… πŸ™‚

  12. That is so cute!!!!! I love dogs! I love all ur books Heather! Absolutely cant wait for october to come!

    • Hey Heather (again! πŸ™‚ )
Remember when I told you that I wrote the song for Home for The Holidays. Well, I finally recorded it and I was wondering if I can send you the link through email? In your contact tab of the website I can not attach anything so I was wondering what your email was so I can send it that way! THANKS!!!

    • How exciting, Brianne! You’ll have to tell us all about it when you return!

  16. OMG, that picture of Bonnie eating ice cream is SOOO cute!! My dog would love to have ice cream, but sadly he’s on a diet. Bummer!

    • Not yet, Julia — it’s going to be a while, sorry. I’m on deadline this week, then traveling to the Betsy-Tacy convention next week. Hang in there!

  17. That is soooooooo cute! I wish we could feed our dog ice cream like that but he is so big so he would probably eat it all in 3 or 4 bites!

    • She’s a Shetland Sheepdog, Olivia — just like Sugar and Spice, from Half Moon Farm.

    • None at the moment — I’m not in reading mode alas, but in writing mode. Anyone else?

    • My Life in Pink and Green by Lisa Greenwald
Trading Faces by Julia Dvilars and Jennifer Roy
Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levne
Walk Two Moons by Sharon Chreech

If you need more I can give you some others.

    • The Pretty Little Liars series is excellent, as is The Lying Game series, both by Sara Shepard. A series that I can read time and time again without ever getting sick of it is The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot (and she’s written a lot of other great stuff as well). The Calypso Chronicles by Tyne O’Connell are witty and hilarious.

    • Well if you haven’t read them 4 billiion times reading The Mother-Daughter Book Club and all them is actually really relaxing. I have read them over and over when I’m depressed and somehow Emma Jess Cassidy Megan and Becca’s problems seem to make my problems unrealistic and I just drop my worries. But if you don’t want to read that then you shoud try reading Chu Ju’s House by Gloria Whelan. My book lub read it and most of us liked it. (When i say most of us I mean that my friend didn’t really like it but my friend doesn’t really like reading in the first place.

  18. Whenever I go to Dairy Queen with one of my puppies in the car, they ask if we want a small cone for them! Ha! Once we got on for my dog, Cajun, and he loved it! πŸ™‚

  19. Hey, I just looked at the date of your post, and it was written on my birthday! I just turned 13. Also I absolutely LOVE the names of your dogs. They are the names of the main characters of the Dragons in our Midst, Oracles of Fire, and are also in The Children of the Bard series. They are all by Bryan Davis and are some of the best books ever written, in my opinion. I highly recommend them.

      • Hey Heather!
Your dog is really cute! I was wondering if I could get your email so that I can get to know you better!? Is that fine with you?

        • Esther, if you go to the “Contact” page on my website, there’s a way to send me an email from there. πŸ™‚
