1.  Take one dog bowl and fill it with treats …

2.  Add over 250 names plus two eager dogs (preferably Shelties named Bonnie and Billie) …

3.  Ready, set, go!  (note blurry action shot as names are ejected from the bowl in the mad rush for treats)

4.  Gather up winning names…

5.  Drumroll please … time for the big reveal!

And the winners are — LACEY COLE, whose dream trip would be to Concord, Massachusetts; OONA, who wants to see Paris and about a zillion other places but doesn’t like airplanes; and BOOKLOVER B, who can’t decide between Paris, Italy, and Concord, Massachusetts!

Congratulations, girls!  Look for an email from me soon — I’ll be sending off your autographed copies of WISH YOU WERE EYRE as soon as I have your snail mail addresses.  Thanks for entering the giveaway, everyone!

Boxed set winner!

Drumroll, please!

1.  Cue the hat …

That’s my husband Steve’s new hat.  He looks very handsome in it.  So handsome, in fact, that I couldn’t say no when he asked to pick the winner this time around!  Bonnie and Billie will just have to wait until tomorrow night, and the second giveaway, for their turn.

2.  Fill the hat with names …

Wow — over 150 of them this time around!

3.  Mix ’em up and pick one …

4.  And the winner is …

Congratulations, Anika!  I’ll be sending you an email shortly, and once you reply with your address, I’ll ship this gorgeous boxed set off to you.

And happy almost birthday, by the way!  Excellent timing, wouldn’t you say?

Stay tuned, everyone — tomorrow I’ll be announcing the three winners of the WISH YOU WERE EYRE giveaway!

Can I go home now?

Look who was waiting for me when I drove up to get her at “doggie daycare” today …

That’s our Billie on the left.  Is she a cutie pie or what?  Don’t know who her pal is on the right, but he or she is pretty adorable, too!

It’s a rainy day here in Oregon, so Bonnie and Billie went off to play with their friends for a few hours.  They’re home now, resting up for their big moment in the spotlight this weekend — choosing the winners of the two GIVEAWAYS!  Stay tuned for the announcements…

It’s finally here!  The giveaway you’ve all been waiting for!

“Better in a box” giveaway

Oh my goodness, do I have a treat for you this morning!  Look what arrived over the weekend:

A boxed set of the first five books in the MOTHER-DAUGHTER BOOK CLUB series!  Is this gorgeous or what?!  It’s called “The Mother-Daughter Book Club Collection.”  ♥ ♥ ♥  Won’t this make a great gift?  It’s already wrapped and ready to go, all you have to do is stick a bow on it and you’re done.

I’m so thrilled with my publisher for creating this little beauty that I can’t resist giving one away.  So … let’s have a contest!  To enter, please leave a comment below telling us why books are better in a box (or if they’re better — it’s OK if you don’t think they are), and who you’d give the set to if you win (even if it’s yourself).

Deadline for entries is Friday, October 19th at midnight Pacific time.  Winners will be announced on Saturday the 20th. Entries from the U.S. and Canada only, please.  Tell your friends and spread the word!

(And yes, there will be a WISH YOU WERE EYRE giveaway coming soon!)

Reading nooks

Wow — this picture of my friend Eliza takes me right back to when I was growing up.

My sisters and I used to LOVE making forts and reading nooks in old cardboard boxes.  Usually the kind that refrigerators and other big appliances came in.  I love Eliza’s clever lighting plan, and I see that she’s fortified herself with a snack.  My kind of girl!

Where do you like to curl up and read?  Send me a picture of you in your favorite spot, reading one of my books, and I’ll post it here on my website!  (Be sure and get permission from your parents first, though, like Eliza did, OK?)
