Thank you, Book Diva!

Click here to read a nice write-up of a VERY fun Skype visit I had with a book club in Maryland recently. Β Thanks, Book Diva!

    • I did! Or actually, I just kind of messed around and taught myself. Everybody did when I was growing up — there were ponds all over the place where people skated in the winter. They probably still do! My little sister took serious figure skating lessons, though.

  1. Very cool! I wish my library would do that!!
Ms. Frederick, um I know you LOVE Jane Austen, and I am addicted. I don’t know if you like this kind of stuff or have heard of it for that matter. Either way check it out on Youtube, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, they are hilarious modern day version of Pride and Prejudice. It is just plain amazing!!

  2. Dear Heather,
As I was rereading the MDBC for the third time, I noticed something that had been bothering me for quite a while. It was the title “Betsy was a Junior”. Every time I read Home for the Holidays, it seemed so familiar. Then finally it hit me. My family owned Betsy was a Junior and it had just never gotten read by anybody. We had recieved it when my grandmother’s school library where she taught was getting rid of some older books. When this connection hit me, I ran downstairs to the book shelf to check, and sure enough, my own little betsy tacy MDBC connection. And all along I had been thinking “Why these books? Nobody has ever heard of these books.” And the whole time I had one right in my own living room. Just wanted to share my exciting connection with you.

    • WOW! How fun — love it that you had an undiscovered gem right in your home all the time. Guess I know what YOU’LL be reading this weekend, right? πŸ˜‰

  3. Ok I am making a book list with all the books I have to read! I do this every year!! Any suggestions? I already have a lot on my list but looking for more! (And yes I have read all of Heather’s books!) Thanks in advance!! And about Book Diva- that was super nice!!

    • To Mackenzie:I just read this amazing book over the weekend called–The Comeback season. It was really, really good. I wouldn’t rate it higher than MDBC but it was definitely a must read!

  4. I did a research project on Louisa May Alcott and I learned so much about her that I never knew before!! πŸ™‚

  5. Hi!
I have a random question. How can i send you an email? Under contact on your website it just says contact you by email and nothing else… I wanted to send a picture of something i made. How can I?

    • Claire, I’ll email you directly — I have to be careful not to put my email address online, because then the spammers grab it… πŸ˜‰
