MDBC trailer

Do I have something FUN for you…

Check out this review and absolutely wonderful, hilarious, creative book trailer for THE MOTHER-DAUGHTER BOOK CLUB, made by a fifth grader from Illinois.  I’m SO IMPRESSED! The MDBC has never looked or sounded so sassy! I think this young woman has a future in the film industry, don’t you?

Fantastic job, Julia!

Click here to view it. (And be sure and leave a comment for the talented young filmmaker!)

  1. I have the same app for trailers as she does. Its pretty easy. It gives you the music and you can pick different themes. All you have to do is take videos and change the words. The app is called imovie and you can make many different kinds of trailers. I have made many movie trailers but never a book trailer. She did a good job.

  2. Hey heather, when I was reading Pies and Prejuduce, when Megan is going to take a picture of Tristans spandex, she says ‘i flip my phone open and snap a picture’ and when I read that i was like really confused for a second cause she said ‘flipped open’ and i forgot there were flip phones and not all were touch screens!!!!! 😛

  3. Hi, I’m in love with your series and would really love to email you to write how much so. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find your email address or contact information. I’d love it if you could please provide me with it. Thank you❤️

    • If you go on the “contact” page on my website, there’s a form that you can submit a message to me on. 🙂 Also an address for snail mail, if you prefer that.

  4. Obsessed with this series all over again! I lent them to my cousin a few years ago, I didn’t realize how long it had been! Totally worth it to re-read again! I love the (Jarcy/Dess?) moments so cute!! And the emma/stewart realtionships its soo cute! In the last book I got pretty mad at him and really disapointed (he wasn’t living up to the dream boyfriend that emma is suitable for in my head?) i honestly do not know! But in the seventh book please don’t make them break up. I would cry for days. Literally. These books trigger more emotions then I have experienced in my entire life. I awe at emmas first kiss and jess and darcy hand holding, it’s just too cute!! I was so mad at stewart I almost threw my book but I mean I would never find out wht happened that way now would I? I really hope it becomes a movie, like really bad!! Me and my cousin are just waiting until it becomes a real thing. I was literally jumping up and down at 4am when you said there was going to be a seventh book! I really need to call my cousin now!!! I honestly wish I knew a director or something but I don’t! Then your movie could become a girls best friend. Its sort of hard to read with your eyes closed lol 😀 sorry this is a lot longer then anticipated! That explains why I’m most like Emma! Although we’re all like every character a little bit!

    • I LOVE how much you love the books, Cheyenne! This makes me want to do the happy dance. (hear that sound? that’s my feet doing the happy dance) Happy new year to you and your cousin! 🙂

  5. My daughter has read all of your MDBC books and has made the chocolate chip cookie recipe a dozen times. Can you please post this recipe online so that I have it electronically?

    Thanks,

    • Lena, I just sent you the requested recipe via email, but want to post my current favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe here below. They were made for me this fall by Liz Abbott, star librarian at the Morse Pond School in Falmouth, Massachusetts. They totally wowed me, and are now my husband’s favorite!

      WORLD FAMOUS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

      2-1/8 c. flour
      1/2 tsp. salt
      1/2 tsp. baking soda
1-1/2 sticks (3/4 c.) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
      1 c. (overflowing) brown sugar
      1/2 c. white sugar
1 large egg plus 1 egg yolk
      2 tsp. vanilla
      2 c. (1 12 oz. bag) milk chocolate chips
      1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)

      Preheat oven to 325.

Mix dry ingredients (flour, salt and baking soda) in a medium bowl.
Mix butter & sugars together. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients. Add chocolate chips.

Place spoonfuls of cookie dough in ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 325 degrees until edges are golden brown, about 12 minutes.

      • I only have the audio book versions of the whole series is there a way you could post all the recipes?

  6. oh and I have a quick question for you heather.
I was finally able to buy ‘pride and prejudice’ and i’ve been wanting to read it ever since i read ‘pies and prejudice’ and afterward i want to see the movie. Which P&P movie do you like best? is there a version your prefer? and is there any scenes were my little sister cant watch? (age 9) is it a family friendly movie?

    • My favorite P&P movie is the one Mrs. Hawthorne likes — the BBC production starring Colin Firth. BUT it’s six hours long, so you might want to start with the feature film (90 minutes or so) starring Keira Knightley. Both are family friendly, but not sure your little sister will be all that interested… Enjoy!

  7. I’ve reread the whole MDBC seven times now and it’s still apsolutley my favorite series.I’ve read Absolutely Truly too! It was really good. I just can’t wait for 2016 for the last book of the MDBC to come out!Is it going to tell a little about their adult life?

    • SEVEN TIMES? Wow, Cailey! And SO happy to hear that you enjoyed “Absolutely Truly,” too. 🙂 As for MDBC #7, you’ll just have to wait and see…

  8. Hi Heather!
You are my favorite author! I have read all of your MDBC books many times, and my parents got me Absolutely Truly for X-mas.
And will you have any more posts about MDBC #7?

    • Why thank you, Kahtya! More soon about MDBC #7 — I just turned in the first draft, and after my editor gets back to me with her comments, I’ll be diving into the revision.

  9. I love the trailer!! I think there should be a movie with fans of the MDBC as the characters!(BTW, I would make a great Jess)

  10. I just finished reading your series 20 times! I think I memorized it! I really can’t stop re-reading I just love the girls and like reading about them!

  11. Yea actually in my school we have iPads and we have that app on it. I loved it so much I got it on our IPad at home. It is $5.00 but it is defiantly with it!

  12. OMG! I LOVE THE MOTHER-DAUGHTER BOOK CLUB SERIES! I was SO sad when I finished the seventh book because that was the last one! I really wanted to find out what happened at college! There should TOTALLY be a movie! I can’t wait! And I hope there is one! By the way, Heather, you are my favorite author and my HERO!

  13. Thank you so much, Heather, for writing these books! You are my absolute hero!!!!!! PLEASE make a movie of the Mother Daughter Book Club series!!! Will you? My favorite series that you wrote is the Mother-Daughter Book Club, but I really like Once Upon A Toad, too!!!!!! YOU ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE AUTHOR! I want to be JUST like you when I grow up!! I’ve read all of your books like 20 times each!!!!

    • Aw, thanks, Tori! As for a movie, alas it’s not up to me. Let’s hope somebody in Hollywood reads the books and wants to make a movie! ;o

  14. Heather, thank you so much for writing these amazing books! PLEASE write another book in the MDBC series, or a series just like it!!! I really want to hear what happens at college! You are my favorite author!!!!

  15. OMG!! I really want there to be an eighth book! Maybe it could be about Emma, Jess, Megan, Cassidy, and Becca’s kids and how they join a mother daughter book club with their moms. Or maybe just how they survive during college? I would LOVE to get a reply from you but you are probably really busy. Anyway, love your books!

    • No eighth book, alas, Courtney. 🙁 But so glad you love my books! 🙂
