Hey New York friends and fans – I’m heading your way next month!

I’ll be in town for the Edgar Awards (click here to read about THAT excitement), and have been invited to a signing at Books of Wonder with my fellow nominees.

  1. Oh my goodness! You’re coming to the East Coast!! I’m so happy. I believe I may have asked this question about another book signing that I had to miss, but can I bring all my books but you to be signed? Or just Absolutely Truly? I’m only and hour and a halk out of the city, so I really hope I can come!

    • I’d be happy to sign any books that you bring, or that you buy. 🙂 My sense of bookstore signings is that they’re like a dinner party. Fine to bring your own dish, but it’s polite to taste the host’s food, too. I know bookstores appreciate it when customers buy at least something…

      • Ok. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make this one either! Why, oh why, must it be on a Tuesday?!

  2. Hi Mrs. Frederick! I’ve recently been reading Absolutely Truly. I’ve found it amazing and a great read. One question though has been tugging at me for a while though. I was wondering if Pumpkin Falls was based off of or inspired by a certain place. It sounds like a beautiful and marvelous place! This story has taught me so much and has left a deep impression on me! Thanks so much for your truly terrific novel! Your books have always been close to home as I live in the town the Mother Daughter Book Club took place in! Me and all my friends read them and loved how realistic they were!

    • Pumpkin Falls is a salute to all the small towns in New England where I grew up — it’s not a real place, but there are bits and pieces of real places in it, in other words. I’m so glad you like it! I’m about to dive into a sequel to “Absolutely Truly,” and can’t wait to go back to Pumpkin Falls, even if it’s only in my imagination. 😉 And how FUN that you live in Concord!!!

        • Ha! It’s going to be called “Yours Truly,” and I’m diving in to write it even as we speak!

  3. I wish you would come somewhere near me :). You are my favorite author. I would beg my parents to drive me to see you if you came remotely near me. Lol. Are you planning on doing a book tour or anything like that soon? Do we get a fan mail Friday soon?

    • No book tours at the moment, Brooke — maybe when the next book comes out. Stay tuned! And yes, Fan Mail Friday coming soon!

  4. Hi! Wow maybe I can come too! I’m only an hourish out of the city as well. Where abouts are you from, Keri? I’m from Fishkill

    • Anybody want to chime in? Tell us what kind of books you like, Lucy — mysteries? realistic? fantasy?

    • hey lucy,
I recently got into YA dystopian novels like Divergent by Veronica Roth and Legend by Marie Lu. (I’m in 8th grade too) They are both series, and both of them are full of action. I highly recommend them if you’re someone who enjoys reading dystopian with a little bit of romance –if you haven’t already read them of course.

    • OK, gang, who has ideas for Lucy? I have two: Heart of a Shepherd by Rosanne Parry and Whistle in the Dark by Susan Hill Long. Both authors are friends of mine, and I love their books!

      • Hey! I’m in Grade 8 too! I just read this amazing book, it’s called “Winner’s Curse” but Marie Rutkoski. The sequel is “Winner’s Crime”. It’s sort of a dystopian/historical fiction/romance novel. It’s about this general’s daughter who is really daring basically, and she buys a slave, (who she may or may not fall for later) and then this whole political crazy plot happens. It has love triangles, and it was brilliant! I’m eagerly awaiting the 3rd one. Another good book is “We Were Liars”. I’ll just say this much: You will not expect the plot twist at the end. It was a bit confusing at first, but a good read. I let you know if I think of more. 🙂

  5. YAYYYY! I just read above that you’re writing a sequel to Absolutely Truly! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that book and am so excited to read Yours Truly and the 7th MDBC book coming soon! Also, please let me know if you’ll ever be coming to Atlanta, Georgia because I will definitely make it out to visit you!
